The Four Agreements – Don Miguel Ruiz

This book is quite exotic and not one of the typical self-improvement books. Nevertheless, you can get a lot of value from it. It focuses mainly on happiness and four agreements you have to make in order to get it. Those four basic principles sound extremely simple yet the majority of people are not living up to it. They are just underestimated and Don Miguel Ruiz tries to show his readers the importance of them. This book definitely helps you to let go of negativity or pessimism and to be happier. Quite a good book!

Meditations – Marcus Aurelius

This diary is full of ancient wisdom. You need to really think about every sentence you read because oftentimes they are written with similes or metaphors. It is all about the stoic philosophy of unreactive contentment and the art of not getting distracted by everything and everyone around you. Marcus Aurelius also wrote down a lot of his thoughts about life, death and meaning. In this book, you can find all the private reflections of the roman emperor because he never wanted to publish his book. It was just his private diary. Very high conscious! Read it!
